If you ever have to ‘pitch’ to win things then you better check this out.
Background: 1969, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting
(CPB) was in danger of getting their funding cut in half by Nixon because of war costs.
So the CPB calls in Mr. Rogers to testify before the Senate.
Amazingly, when he starts talking you think ‘OMG this guy is an idiot, he will never convince anyone’.
But as he goes on he hypnotises everyone including John O. Pastore, the notoriously gruff and impatient judge.
This is not your normal pitch but very effective because he is using emotion so powerfully.
